अच्छी भली थी दूर से, जब पास आई खो गई,
जिसमें न आए कुछ नजर वो रोशनी है जिंदगी।

I lived earlier too but ever since I got life
Life is not straight it is complicated to a great extent
It was good from a distance but when I came closer it got lost.
The light in which nothing can be seen is life.

आँसू आ जाते है रोने से पहले,
ख्वाब टूट जाते है सोने से पहले,
लोग कहते है मोहब्बत गुनाह है,
काश कोई रोक लेते गुनाह होने से पहले।

Dreams are shattered before sleeping
People say love is a crime
I wish someone would have stopped the crime before it happened.

कुछ अपने गमों को हम यूं छुपाते है
कोई पूछता है तो हम अच्छा बताते है।

Some of our sorrows we hide like this
If someone asks then we tell him good.

बहुत कम लोग मुझे अच्छा कह पाते है।
बाकि सब तो मुझे बहुत बुरा बताते है।

Very few people can call me good.
Everyone else calls me very bad.

हर कोई मुझे जिंदगी जीने का तरीका बताता है,

Everyone tells me how to live life
No one is able to ask for support.

अब तो अपनी तबियत भी जुदा लगती है,
सांस लेता हूँ तो ज़ख्मों को हवा लगती है,
कभी राजी तो कभी मुझसे खफा लगती है,
जिंदगी तू ही बता तू मेरी क्या लगती है।

Now even my health seems different.
When I breathe the wounds feel fresh
Sometimes she seems happy and sometimes angry with me
Life you tell me what you think of me.

समंदर न सही पर एक नदी तो होनी चाहिए,
तेरे शहर में ज़िंदगी कहीं तो होनी चाहिए।

ज़िन्दगी हर पल ढलती है,
जैसे रेत मुट्ठी से फिसलती है,
शिकवे कितने भी हो किसी से,
फिर भी मुस्कराते रहना,
क्योंकि ये ज़िन्दगी जैसी भी है,
बस एक ही बार मिलती है।

Like sand slipping from the fist

बहुत तकलीफ होती है।
जब कोई अपना दिल दुखाता है।

वक्त से जरा पूछकर बताना,
क्या वक्त के साथ अपने भी बदल जाते है।

ज़िन्दगी एक हसीन ख़्वाब है,

In which there should be a desire to live
Sorrows will themselves turn into happiness
You should just have the habit of smiling.

ख्वाहिशें भी कब तक मारेंगे हम,
हम ने अब ख्वाहिशो को ही मार दिया।

For how long will we kill our desires?
Now we have killed our desires.

जीते जी मेरी एक भी ख्वाहिश पूरी ना हुई,
अब तो जीते जी मर गए है अब क्या होगा।

Not a single wish of mine was fulfilled during my lifetime
